Tips on touring Toronto and Southern Ontario Wineries

If touring by car designate a driver for the day that will not consume alcohol or best book an organized wine tasting trip through your hotel or agency.

Never plan to visit more than four to five wineries in a single day.

You don't have to drink every ounce poured for tasting, it's appropriate to spit out wine in buckets special for this purpose. In Ontario there is a four ounces restriction per winery.

It's not a good idea to taste wine on an empty stomach, wine tastes best when combined with food. Most wineries have their own restaurants or serve food at wine tasting events.

To better wash the tastes of the previous wine have an apple bite! Never chew gum instead, it will affect the taste of the wine. Also avoid wearing strong scents it will influence your wine bouquet appreciation

Be prepared to buy wines that you like, most of the wines you taste you won't be able to find in regular retail store

Although most of wineries are open to public all year around for tasting, Ice Wine Festival happens only in January. You can always call before to make sure before visiting or check the open time on map infowindow.

In your wine routes be prepared to stop and enjoy the beauty of Niagara Escarpment or Niagara Falls. You want to share a tip! We love to hear from you. contact
